PFFFFFTTTT!!! I just hadn't gotten that far down on my flist yet. I've already been to your journal with my tongue hanging out and my paws in the air, begging for affection. :)

Where do I start? This is kinda overwhelming! You are the most empathetic person I know. You're incredibly generous with your time, and once someone's earned your loyalty it'd take a LOT to lose it, and that makes you an amazing friend. You're daring (omg, a condo and a book deal and a new job and a weekend jaunt to NYC AND a new cat! ) O__O You've got that Sagittarius streak of honesty that makes me know I can always trust me to tell it like it is -- you won't make me guess whether or not something needs to be discussed, which is incredibly comforting. You're so soft-hearted and it shows not just in your friendships but in your fic, where you always manage to find the light shining deep inside of even the darkest souls. I could go on and on, but instead I'll just sum it all up with this: you're AWESOME!

I have oodles and oodles of love to spare for you, darlin'! Hmmm, where should I begin? When I think of you, the first word that comes to mind is UNIQUE. Beautifully unique, with the sheen of self-confidence that comes from not being afraid to be yourself. I really, really admire that. You are kind-hearted and generous, and I don't believe that you'd ever deliberately hurt anyone -- and that you'd be very upset if you did so accidentally. You're genuinely thoughtful, and it shines through in everything you say and in your gorgeous poetry. If I were to make a list of the people on my flist that I've yet to meet and really WANT to, yours would be one of the first names I'd write. And hopefully we WILL get that coffee one day soon -- is there any chance you might be able to meet up with me and Megan in NYC? *crosses fingers and toes*

Re: NYC. I would LOVE to do the meet-up! I mean... you *and* Megan?! Barring a second GFG, when will I have the opportunity to meet up with both you far-flung ladies? There are two things that I'm trying to wrangle currently: the distance [it's still eight hours to NYC from B-town] and the possibility of Suseh coming into town that weekend [there's a concert in Montreal that we are considering catching]. I really, REALLY want to meet up with you... so, yes, cross those fingers and toes. The travel gods have been kind this year, thusfar. [I think they might be fannishly inclined. ;D]

You are -- and don't take this the wrong way -- what I think of as an "old soul"; wiser than most people will ever be in a lifetime. You have the gift of seeing straight into the heart of things, of knowing what's relevant and what's bullshit, and that's a trait that I both admire and covet. You're not afraid to express your opinions, you have the courage of your convictions; you are a lioness. And who *doesn't* need a lioness in their corner when the world feels threatening? You have a beautiful, generous spirit and the talents to go with it -- you have both people skills and technical skills, which is a rare combination, but it's one of the many reasons why people are drawn to you in droves. You're one of a small group of people who I totally trust to be honest; to tell it like it is and to do it with kindness. When I think of you, the first word that comes to mind is "intuitive." You truly care about people and you're always willing to stop, put aside your own worries, and give wise and completely on-target advice. And you're SO brave. I wish I had the words to express how awed I am that you took on the job that you did last summer. You care about the state of the world and you're not afraid to DO something about it -- you will always be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Also, I adore how much you love the arts. I know I can count on you to squee with me over great performances, whether it's the Nutcracker at Christmastime or Broadway-Across-America. Now that I'm going to the real, actual Broadway, I keep wishing that you could meet up with me there. Your love and enthusiasm for it is one of the biggest reasons I was able to work up the courage to go there myself. You are definitely a GOOD, positive influence! And those are just a few of the things I ♥ about you. You're simply awesome!

I've been really really bad about commenting lately, but I squee'd like crazy when I saw that you're planning to write some more in the beautiful Avignon-verse. I really really admire your wonderful sense of detail and of place; your fic always appeals to the senses, and that's a mark of a great writer. Awwww, added to reading the words 'dora the explorer' in an spn fic a couple of days ago and tearing up 'cos Dora was my nan's name and it gets me a bit emotional every time i see that her name is now everywhere, you just totally made me well up again!
Believe you me, you won't miss the sequel to Avignon - it's only vaguely in my head right now, alongside finishing Texas Is Home and ideas for 'The Amazing Adventures of Jewgirl' (yes, we're on facebook with that one!) - I just hope that the sequel can be worthy of everything you've just said about me and well, frankly, gushing now, but totally ditto, ditto, ditto!
