I think there is some truth in what Ovid says. but I take secure as secure in yourself, in your own worth. it's way more attractive for people who wants to be friends. BUT once you have friends, if you have a hard time in your life, they will stay there. you may not attract new one just then, you know? so yeah. I think it's true, but the last part is a bit harsh, I don't believe it much.
