Who knows when I'll be back again? (actually, Sunday)
All my bags are packed
I'm ready to go
My nails are done
So I'll look good at the show...
yeah yeah, a poet I ain't. But for the next 3 1/2 days I will be seeing 3 Broadway plays (ON BROADWAY!!!!!) and going to the Met and the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and staying in a hotel that's right at the Rockefeller Center! I'm such a fangirl of that crazy ass ear-hating artistic genius, Van Gogh, I will squee loud enough to you to hear it (wherever you live) when I see an ACTUAL painting that the ACTUAL lunatic painted HIMSELF! (I like Van Gogh. He's proof that we creative types don't have to live inside the lines.)
Starry starry night, paint your palette blue and gray. Look out on a summer's day with eyes that watch the world and can't forget.... [Yes, I will get to see the original Starry Night!!!] *dances*
Megan already left Oregon, and she'll be flying all night! I leave early in the morning, drive to Atlanta, and then it's just a straight 2-hour shot to JFK. Can you imagine -- just two hours to find myself in a whole new world! I haven't been to NYC since I was 15...wonder what's changed. I've NEVER been to a Broadway show (on Broadway, I mean), and now I'll get to see Rent and Wicked and Spring Awakening! And shop til I drop. There will be no sleeping on this trip. I can sleep in the car on the way home. *nods*
cynthia_arrow, I was thinking about you and your trip today. If you get a chance, let me know how the flights went. I'm sure you handled it like an expert!
My flying phobia is alive and well, so I wheedled a few Valium out of my doctor. Hope it'll be enough and I won't go stark raving bonkers in midair. I'm taking a whole album full of beautiful Sawyer and Jack piccies to focus on whenever I start to feel tense. I'll just remember how Jack talked to Shannon when she was having her panic attack, and pretend he's there talking to me. *happy sigh*
Next time you hear from me I'll be in the Big Apple! :D

*seethes* You don't even know how jealous I am of you right now. That is my very favorite painting ever. It's gorgeous in pictures, I can't imagine how amazing it's going to be in person. You and Megan (and Laura, right?) have tons of fun and take bunches of pictures. We'll miss you.
Oh, and just because I thought you might want to know, I'm watching Friday Night Lights (and pretty much loving the hell out of every second of it). ;D

I've seen some Van Gogh pieces and they honest to God took my breath away. I wanted to touch the paint so very very bad. I guess museums frown on that?

And OMG, Van Gogh is one of those artists where reproductions do NOT do his work justice. You simply have to see them in person. I got to visit the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and it was amazing. I could stare at some of those paintings for hours!

That's such a brilliant idea, hon! You know how reassuring he can be. :)
Have fun on your trip! I'm sure it'll be awesome. *hugs*

I saw Wicked on Broadway three times, YOU WILL LOVE IT, it's freakin' wonderful!!
Have a great time and you really will shop to you drop..to prove how much I do..the store clerks in a few stores I go into in Soho know me by my first name, and I don't even live there. *smile*

ohh, yes, you'll enjoy seeing originals of your fave, that is for sure. I love museums.
I asked Megan to hug y'all for me, but I give you the mission of hugging HER for me too ♥

As for MOMA, I don't get that museum at all. Seriously, institutional art is something that I just don't get. I instead spent my time at the Met and the Museum of Natural History to see the DINOSAUR BONES! But I'm sure you'll like MOMA too.
And NO SLEEPING ALLOWED! Only go go go!
Also, your excitement got to me. I'm planning my own New York trip, which you'll hear more details about later. It's the last leg in a larger post-graduation, before I start real life trip. But, the important thing right now is how much fun you'll have!
