yeah, I think he suffered the "You got another job? You die now" policy on Lost. *sigh* I told you I'd just read that TPTB were complaining one of two actors they "needed" was in a play, and I figured that was Karl.
and yeah, he's dead in both shows. :( The whole Karl/Alex/evil island of pregnancy seems kind of like Spring Awakening to me the more I think about it.
