SAVE ME (from myself)

I'm on a stupid streak. First, last night I was having fun writing luau fic in the tone of a B-grade slasher film (uh, that'd be "slasher" in the original sense, heh) with Kate as the crazy heroine who *always* goes into the scary room alone when you tell her not to (gasp!). It was fun. So, at bedtime I thought I was clever, and I saved it all to my Word clipboard just in case anything happened to it during the night. Something did; the monitor wouldn't go to sleep so I closed all the open programs, knowing that my fic was still safely on the clipboard. Somehow thru the night the computer got turned off, though, and when I re-opened Word and tried to re-instate the document from the clipboard, nothing was there. Is my fic lost forever?

I'm trying something new with my icons. A few weeks ago a couple of you helped me decide which ones were "safe" from being rotated out, and it works out to roughly half. To free up more usable space, I've decided to sort them into categories, like, "FNL," or Seasons and only use a certain number of icons in each group. Anybody want to help me think of catetories? So far I've got: writing, "FNL", other tv shows, movies, books, theater, songs and bands, seasons, travel, events, and other Lost actors who aren't Josh or Foxy, hee. [other possibles are sports, moods, fashion....what am I leaving out?]

that stinks that you lost it, and i'm not sure how you could recover it. A tip that has always worked for me is e-mailing the story to myself..that way even if my computer gets funky it will be in my aol account. goodluck recovering it-sounds so cute,,i mean scary ;0)

Email! *thunks head* Of course that'd work -- I remember a while back when someone had an emo day and deleted all her stuff, but she was able to go back and find what she'd lost in the feedback she'd received in her email folder. 'Course since hadn't posted yet, that wouldn't work for me, but it'd never have dawned on me to email mySELF! You're a genius.

And yeah, it was only 3 paragraphs I lost but they were fun...er I mean scary...ones. ;)
