Requiem, and other stuff

alliecat8My computer is dead, y'all. I left all my screens open last night, like I usually do so I can wake up to LJ and my email and whatever writing project I'm working on, but this morning all there was was a blue screen that said that an error had occurred, and at the bottom it said, "Dumping physical memory. Physical memory dump complete." I tried turning the computer off and then back on, but all I get is a message that says, "No input signal," then the monitor turns off. I tried unplugging and replugging everything, and that didn't work either. Last night I was on AIM with Megan and all of a sudden about 4 dozen Internet Explorer pages opened up, but I closed them all and everything seemed fine. OMG, I'm only just recovering from my last virus, please God don't let me have another one! And my NaNo novel is on there! And I hadn't backed it up yet! Not to mention the Sawyer fic-in-progress that I wanted to post tomorrow. Tell me it's okay, y'all, eeeeeeeep!!!!
(In the meantime I'm on hubby's desktop, in a room that OMG has receipts for bills from the last 5 years piled on every available surface, including the floor and the desk. There's a tiny clear area where the mouse is, and that's it. I am getting hives.)
In other news, I'm BAAAAAAAACK! I took a few days off after the trip to re-integrate myself into RL, and I still haven't totally unpacked, but I missed my LJ so here I am. My next post will be my "trip-report" -- Allie-style -- which means that it'll consist of lots of random squee and not much coherence. zelda_zee's Mexico vacation, and to read janie_tangerine's J/S NaNo novel. YAY!
I want to thankelise_509 and elliotsmelliot and haldoor for their lovely Christmas cards! *HUGE HUGS* My cards from Mexico are almost ready to go in the mail -- you will hear in my trip-report about why they didn't get mailed from Mexico. For me, Vacation = Drama & Disasters, oh woe, but somehow I still manage to have the time of my life.
