Spoilers say that the "he" that Kate was refering to in the S3 finale is a child named Aaron. At Kate's trial, which we'll see in her ff next week, she claims that Aaron is her own child. The speculation has been that it must be Kate and Sawyer's son -- possibly named after Claire's Aaron out of respect, after something happens to Aaron #1 -- because there's no way that Kate could come back from 3 months on the island with the *real* Aaron -- a nearly-three-month-old kid -- and pass it off as her own. But I've always had a hunch that Kate DOES end up raising the real Aaron, Jack's nephew. I think something's going to happen to Claire (hopefully it's just that she'll get left behind on the island, not die) and as Kate's being rescued Claire hands Aaron off to her for safe-keeping. IF time is moving faster in the outside world, then Kate would return to a time in the future; say, for example, one year and three months after the crash. Then it would be perfectly plausible for her to have given birth on the island and come home with a three-month-old.
