First, where the heck did my header go? Where the heck did that new thing come from? Obviously I haven't been to my journal in far too long...it's making decisions without me now.

Second, I can't talk about that thing that you're all going to be talking about. My feelings are too strong and I don't want to say something ill-advised, so I'll be silent about it.

We've been saying for a long time now that Jack and Sawyer were slowly turning into each other. We haven't seen many obvious examples of that lately, but tonight the hints were everywhere. Sawyer has taken on what should be Jack's role as Claire's protective big brother. (and I love it) He's always wearing a shirt. (I have not-so-much love for that) Jack...let me count the ways. He's running around shirtless and smooth-chested, wearing a towel. (and I love it) He's making out with, and playing house with, Kate. (this is me being silent) And for the first time ever, I heard him say Sawyer's trademark line, "Son of a bitch!" (it was cute) My boys have always been two sides of the same coin, and I like it that that idea might not've been abandoned. It's only a small morsel for my starving slash-muse, but at least it's something.

That is a most excellent point. I hadn't even thought of it that way before, but I'm pretty damned sure that I will from now on.

Yeah, if you're on the lookout for it, sometimes you can really see it. Here's a great fic Megan wrote about it: http://eponine119.livejournal.com/345615.html#cutid1

It's probably my very favorite part of Lost, and if those meanie writers take it away I will do something drastic. What, I have no idea. ;)

Dude, your journal redesigned itself! WTF.

I caught a lot of the textual Sawyer = Jack and Jack = Sawyer stuff, but not all of it. So, thanks for pointing the rest of them out! It has to be on purpose, right? So, yeah, slash muse mildly satisfied that there IS more to this story.

Bwah hah, I finally found your tags. That's the *real* reason it took me so long to answer the comments to this post, 'cause I wanted to link something from your journal to the first comment and I couldn't find it and I'm too anal to answer comments out of order and...well, you know.

Hey, I made a new icon from that Josh Groban song I, er, gently suggested you listen to. ;) Do those lyrics make sense to anybody but me?

hairless!jack is just mystifying. i can't wrap my head around it.

and sawyer needs to go back to walking around shirtless, for everyone's good. :-)

I can explain hairless!Jack, I think. It looks like he had to shave for this http://www.reelzchannel.com/movie/227106/speed-racer?clipid=33777 scene in Speed Racer. Now if we could only get Jack and Sawyer both walking around shirtless looking *that* buff, I could deal, hair or no hair. ;)

(Oh, he had to shave last summer for his L'Oreal ad, too...see my icon...maybe he decided he liked it? *frets, and kinda misses the fur*)

Aww, I like. I'll take any Jack/Sawyer I can get! Think Sawyer will get back to the beach in time to have any real scenes?

I debated on whether to answer your question wearing my fandom-cheerleader disguise, or to tell you what I really think. Sadly, the pompoms are in semi-retirement, and I don't think we'll get any truly meaningful scenes between Jack and Sawyer until S6. That said, though, when I retired my cheerleader icon I replaced it with a glass-half-full, and in that respect I think that their relationship will continue to develop while they're apart. Maybe now they've finally hit bottom with the jealousy bs and they can move on from Kate toward understanding and respect. I really, really hope.

Hee, thank you very muchly! I swear I think my slash muse needs CPR after, what's it been, almost 2 whole seasons with them hardly sharing any screen time? And yet the chemistry just won't die. And to that, me and the slash muse give you a big *high five*!

As the camera panned up on future!Jack in bed, I said to [livejournal.com profile] hendercats "Sawyer!". Same smooth skin, same sunken spot in the middle of his chest, hands curled the same as we've seen Sawyer's in the past (although the body was a little too plump for Sawyer) - and then the Jack-head. Not to mention what you already have, the use of Sawyer's signature phrase. We have never, ever heard Jack say that before - but we have heard Sawyer use the name Chewy before, and we all know Chewy was the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon, which is what future!Jack stepped on in the happy house of mystery.

Not to mention that even now, with repeated viewings (listenings), I still hear Juliet's voice coming from inside that shower, until the door actually opens and Jack says "What, you don't like the scruff?"

Jack becoming Sawyer becoming Jack? Kate becoming Juliet becoming Kate? Locke becoming Ben becoming more of a bastard with every breath?

Only the Island knows for sure!

Not that we've, like, memorized him or anything. ;)

Not only has Sawyer used the name Chewie, he's quoted Han Solo more than once: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Star_Wars. (God, I'm such a nerd.) So if Sawyer's Han, would that make Jack Luke (whose daddy's trying to lure him over to the Dark Side) and Kate Leia? If they wanted a princess they should've kept Shannon!

Oh, girlfriend, I am SO with you on the voice in the shower -- I *knew* it was Juliet, and I was all happy, and then the door opened -- on Kate. They cheated, and I call foul. Boo, writers, boo.

And yeah, I'm watching the Ben-Locke metamorphosis too. I'm sure the Island will be happy to share the answer with us...in about 2 years!

This is the best comment I've read about this episode.
Thank you, it lift my mood a bit.
(I did like the episode, it's just that... everything is so sad on Lost right now...)

*beams*

I'm happy to've made you happy! :D

And yes, Lost is almost unrelentingly sad, and that makes me tired. The only antidote is watching nothing but fluff in between! Now I'm off to watch American Idol. ;)
