Omg, y'all, guess what I just did? I re-pierced my left ear, all by myself! I got a second hole pierced in my left ear, oh, maybe 15 years ago (the right ear still only has one), but then I had to be proper around my kids' friends' moms so I quit putting earrings in it and it closed up. But I just un-closed it with a big ol' hoop earring, and it looks awesome if I do say so myself.

Can tattoos be far behind? ;)

Seriously, what tattoo should I get and where should I get it? I'll get it in New Orleans and call it research for a fic I started long ago and never finished.

I only remember something about a death's head. I think that was for Sawyer. Definitely not for you. I can remember the whole conversation, wandering around in Metairie...sigh. I wonder if I wrote it down on my page o story ideas or in my diary. I don't think I did though.

blahhh i'm too chicken to put any holes in my body on my own. I did just get my cartilage pierced though!

tattoos are amaaaaazing. get the numbers tattooed on you somewhere :D haha i considered it. i also read a fan fic with a cute tattoo idea at some point... i can't remember whose it was though and i would feel super lame getting a tattoo based on a fan fic so maybe i'll keep that to myself. but seriously. get one. they're so addicting. i can't wait to get another!

Nah, it didn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would. I've wanted it since I was little but was too chicken... now I wish I'd done it sooner!

I just have one... it's on the lower right side of my back. I picked it because I had a little pudge there and figured that would hurt less haha ummm it hurt a little. It sort of felt like someone was scraping me over and over. It was an annoying feeling mostly... not at all unbearable. I have a super low tolerance for pain so if I can do it you can too! My girlfriend got one in the same spot right after me and didn't even flinch haha so apparently I lose.

a tattoo is very personal, it should come from you. you can go check the books in a tattoo parlor though, could give you ideas. maybe you have a fetish animal? a symbol, maybe (I know people get chinese characters with specific words that mean a lot to them), or a couple of words.

where to put it is something even harder to chose. I've known what mine will be for over 5 years but still have not gotten it (I thought of going today, but it was to nice outside). to chose where to get it, I did a drawing, cut it out and used scotch tape! lol! my final location (between the shoulder blades) was certainly not the one I always thought it would be.

Good advice. I just can't think *what* I'd want to add permanently to my body, you know? My kid outdid himself when he got his tattoos, "love" on the inside of one wrist and "compassion" on the other, right where he can see them when he plays his guitar. Now THOSE are the kind of tattoos that I adore and want for myself. But I can't copy my kid, so...what?

I like the idea of putting one on the back of my neck, where it'd be hidden by my hair most of the time. It'd be a little secret thing just for me, unless I got wild and crazy sometime and shaved my head, lol! I LOVE the idea of putting one between the shoulder blades, too...le sexy!!! :D

yes, back of the neck is a very good place, IMHO, you show it when you want :)

well, as great as they are (and I love the idea) your kid is not the first person to have words inked on him. you would not be copying him if you got your own, depending what and where. but if you don't know what you want, be careful or wait a little more until you find it. you have to be very sure you'll still want the tattoo in 10 years or more!
