I was lucky enough to see Kristin and Idina play in Wicked, for me, it has to be both of them, they really bring the characters to life, they do.

You WERE lucky! I didn't get to see either of them, but I was lucky enough to see Megan Hilty play Glinda twice. I just found out that I'm going to see it in Atlanta next month. The first time I saw it was in Atlanta, too, so I guess things have gone full circle! Now if only they'd find a way around the age thing so that Kristin and Idina could be in the movie, then everybody would be lucky enough to see them!

I imagine Hollywood would think they are too old but I would love to see Idina and Kristin in the movie. I've heard Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon's names being thrown about for Glinda, but no one for Elphaba.

I have no idea who Cally O'Malley is. Should I?

Aw, pfffft, Hollywood! The movie cast of Rent was pretty long in the tooth, too, but since most of them were the Broadway originals, I think it went over really, really well. Plus they can work miracles with makeup these days! I'd LOVE to see those two reprise their roles. Though now that you mention Reese Witherspoon, I think she'd be an inspired choice for Glinda!

Callie O'Malley is a character on Grey's Anatomy, played by Sara Ramirez. She won a Tony for playing the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, and I think she'd make a good (if maybe a bit heavy for the role) Elphaba. I can't think of anyone else who'd fit, and can you imagine being painted GREEN every night, and twice on Saturdays and Sundays? Egads!

Sara Ramirez is made of awesome but Idina Menzel made Elphaba for me.

Awwww, all this talk of Idina makes me wish I'd gotten to see her. Now I want her to get the movie role just so I can!

(I can't believe I don't have a Grey's OR a Wicked icon, SHAME on me!)

Why was there no none of the above answer?

Calley is too soft. Elphaba needs to be a lot more angular... or at least, that's my opinion. Though she does have an AMAZING voice.

I've heard the Amy Adams rumour about G(a)linda too, and I can totally see it, but I wonder if it's just type casting because she's already worn the poofy dress. I can't see Kristin Chenoweth doing at all... for the screen she's just too old for the role. Maybe she could play Glinda in Son of Witch at this point, but not young Glinda.

As for Elphaba, my personal favourite was Eden Espinosa (did you see her when you saw it in LA? Or Shoshanna Bean who is probably my second favourite?) but even she might be getting too old. And neither the Glinda or the Elphaba should be from Hollywood -- Amanda Bynes was the worst thing to happen to Hairspray. So... really, I'm at a loss. Yep. That's all I got.

Or, maybe Laura Bell Bundy for Glinda and Keri Butler for Elphaba. They were on stage together in Hairspray and LBB was a Glinda understudy for a while...

But nothing has been offically announce about production anyway, right? They're going to wait until the popularity dies down and use the movie to jump start it again. Right? I'm not missing something?

Whoops, I should've put a "none of the above" option! It's certainly my choice for the upcoming election, so I should definitely have thought of it!

I wish I could remember who I saw in LA, and who I saw (way early on) in Atlanta. I think Megan Hilty was Glinda both times, and I'm thinking that maybe Eden was Elphaba in Atlanta and Shoshana played her in LA. I need to dig out my old Playbills, I guess.

As far as I know nothing's official yet regarding the movie, if there's even gonna be one. I think it'd translate well to the big screen, tho I'm not sure about the ending. What do you think, is the happy ending a bit too cheesy for Hollywood?

They're making a "Wicked" movie.

WHAT? WHEN? WHERE?

Either way, they should totally stick with Indina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth. Totally.

Rumor has it that they ARE! And I'll be the first in line to see it if they do; I just hope that Hollywood can do the play justice.

I'd love nothing better than to see the originals reprise their Broadway roles. I'm gonna pray to the gods of makeup and eternal youth that Hollywood agrees! :)
