1. I think I lost a filling a few days ago. The tooth doesn't hurt, though, shouldn't it hurt if I lost a filling?

2. I'm flummoxed. HOW do people get soft contacts into their eyes on the first try? I don't have any problem with touching my eye, and I put the contacts right in, but then the stupid thing is still stuck to my finger when I pull it away. This goes on forever until finally, randomly, it stays in my eye. I know there's a trick to it that I've yet to discover. Help?

ETA: Also, since I'm having this problem as I type, WHY is it that gnats always wanna fly into your eyes or up your nose?

No idea, never braved contacts (see my icon for what would be the result if I did!)

Um, I'm putting in a contact right now, trying to figure out how to tell you...

Wash your fingers with the solution and balance the contact on one or your fingers. Try to keep it from touching your finger as much as possible and force your eye open with your other hand. Look up and stick it on your eye and blink.

I dunno. I've worn contacts for 6 years and that's always how I've done it. Lol.

And I have unlimited interwebs now! Yay for real civilization!!! LSU has been screwy on the internet and I was in Kickapoo all summer. Haha.

I've chipped two teeth in the past six weeks or so and it didn't hurt. So, according to my vast experience, if losing bits of real teeth didn't hurt, I don't see why losing a filling (unless it's really deep into your tooth) should hurt.

It has to do with how wet your finger is, I think. Maybe it sticks to your finger if it's wetter than your eye? I've had soft lenses since I was 19, so I don't even consciously think about how I put them in anymore, but I think that the only time I have a lense stick to my finger is when my finger is too wet.

i second this! if it's too wet, the lens will just adhere to your finger.

Looking up while you put them in is also a good idea, I think, and use the flat of your finger, not the tip. At least, from memory, that's what worked for me.

And I believe sometimes it doesn't hurt when you lose a filling, so have it checked if you're at all worried, or you'll end up with a bigger hole!
