Lifted from [livejournal.com profile] eponine119

When you see this, list your top 10 Lost episodes.

Confidence Man
Outlaws
Exodus 1
Exodus 2
Tabula Rasa (I watched yesterday, and OH, the OTP UST was off the scale! That fuselage scene....)
The Brig
Tricia Tanaka is Dead
White Rabbit
Dave
The Long Con

When you see this post, post a Lost quote in your LJ.

You're just not looking at the big picture, Doc. You're still back in civilization. Me? I'm in the wild.

I really debated on Tabula Rasa. I probably should have included it, now that I think about it. I disqualified it because that one kickass UST scene didn't seem enough but there's a lot of other good stuff in there too.

There's a LOT of other good stuff there. For instance, Jack told Kate, "I'm not a murderer." Then Sawyer went and made him one by screwing up the mercy killing. And even though it WAS a mercy killing, it ate at Jack's conscience, and he had Sawyer to blame for it. That's powerful, raw stuff.

Yeah, that's the part I was thinking about when I said I should have included it. Where earlier I just thought, Kate flashback, and took it off the list.

God, how do you guys even remember episodes or their titles? *sighs at own lack of memory* I guess I'm not a very good fangirl. ;-)

The beauty of Lost (well, one of them) is that there are SO many resources out there. The very first link at my Favorites (Bookmark) tab is TheLostHatch. That's where I went to refresh my memory about my favorite Sawyer episodes. ;)

Well, that is a goodresource, I must admit, but I can still see me forgetting within seconds! And as for which is my fave ep? God knows... I can't remember! But I like them all fairly well, and have to admit, like you, anything with Sawyer is a good ep, thanks very much! I won't do the meme, but it'd be more fun to read other people's answers if I had a memory! HA!

Uhm, looks to me like you have a certain fondness for Sawyer episodes? ;) seriously, great list. And in Tabula Rasa there was UST indeed!

Um, it was that obvious??? ;D

I do have a certain crazy!mad obsession fondness for Sawyer, I must admit. And though Tabula Rasa was supposed to be a Kate episode, the implied slash between Jack and Sawyer totally upstaged her. Damn, I love my boys!!!

What is the thing that holds your list together? Hmmmm? Sawyer + Sawyer + Sawyer + Sawyer/Jack + Sawyer/Hurley + Sawyer = awsesome combos. I know a lot of Sawyer fans hate the Brig. How do you feel about it?

[identity profile] alliecat8.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, you have the perfect equation there! ;)

The Brig...okay, well, I hated it that Locke used Sawyer. Hated it bad. But after Sawyer got locked in with Cooper/The Real Mr. Sawyer/TRMS, I was just so, SO overwhelmed and blown away by Josh's performance, there are no words. I watched that scene and afterward the first words out of my mouth were, "Just hand Josh his Emmy, NOW." Oh man, I love Josh to pieces!

Okay, as for the moral issue of "should he or shouldn't he," I have to admit that at first I was shocked that Sawyer went through with the killing. I think we were supposed to be shocked. After all, haven't we been given so many glimpses of Sawyer's tortured conscience, surely enough to make us believe that he'd listen to that conscience in the end? I struggled to wrap my mind around it, to understand his thought processes ('cause my favorite place to live is inside Sawyer's head!), and here's what I got:

TRMS was a bad, BAD man. By the time Sawyer confronted him in The Brig, we knew that he'd lied stolen and killed; he'd pushed Locke out a window, he'd stolen his kidney, and then it was revealed in The Brig that he'd also ruined families remorselessly, most of all Sawyer's. And he was amused about it, and totally unrepentant. Sawyer was looking for remorse. He was looking for a glimmer of guilt from Cooper, to absolve Sawyer's own feelings of guilt (couldn't he have done something if only he'd come out from under the bed?). When TRMS revealed himself to BE the monster that Sawyer had been chasing all along, when he read the letter and instead of showing remorse he ridiculed it and tore it up, well, I don't blame Sawyer for what he did. Not one little bit. Cooper/TRMS turned out to be a scorge on humanity and Sawyer did the world a favor by removing him from it. That makes him a hero.

Er, imho. ;) Can you tell I'm just a bit passionate about this subject?

That's a great breakdown of their history and that very moment. I love The Brig for all the reasons you stated. To be honest, it is the first time my eyes were really opened to what a good actor Josh is. I actually had never cared much for Sawyer until that moment.
