Did you know I ♥ y'all?

I got into a discussion with eponine119 and cmonkatiekatie and zelda_zee about my accent, which I declared I DO NOT HAVE. I mean, *I* can't hear it! And they were all, like, "awww, did you hear that little 'y'all' she said?'" Pshaw, you guys, I don't really talk different from you...do I? LOL! Okay, then one of the cast members from Spring Awakening came out after the show and I said, "Great job!" and he did a double-take and said, "Are you from the South?" And I was just dumbstruck that he knew that from me just saying TWO WORDS!!! Oh, all right, not really dumbstruck because then I started talking to him, and I talked and talked and found out he was from Georgia, which, like, touches Tennessee (the state I grew up in) and there's only one state (Alabama) in between it and Mississippi (where I live now). So, y'all, I guess I have an accent. Also I talk too much.

I owe lots and LOTS of replies to comments, and I haven't answered because I've been running to get places on time and flying all over the damn place and in between, collapsing. This is the collapsing phase, but tomorrow things will return to norm and I will reply to you all with much love and thanks and probably lots of babble. But first, sleep, so I can re-charge my batteries. 'Til tomorrow, my loves! ♥

Yeah, I think maybe you have a little, bitty accent, hon. :) No point in denying it! It's a nice accent, I like it.

Somewhere (... dammit, I never remember to bookmark the blasted thing) there's a great accent test - rather detailed, lots of do you pronounce this word like this one or this one or this one? and do these two words sound alike? a little different? very different? questions. It's fun and interesting if you take the time to consider your answers carefully. And yeah, I know telling you about it and not providing the link is a little like forgetting the punch line of a joke. :(

Ooh, I'd love to take the accent test...in fact, I think I did, once upon a time, and it said I talked like a Northerner, lol! I can probably google it, but I'm half-afraid it'll end up telling me that I talk like Sun on Lost or something! ;)

we always think we don't have much accent ;) same in all language! lol! there is even a difference between the French in Montreal and Quebec. I DO know I have a bad accent when speaking English though. and yours is LOVELY.

Naw, Lou, you don't have any accent at all, lol! And I wouldn't call your voice "bad" at ALL -- you have one of the most adorable...well, we won't call it an accent, will we? *Ways of speaking* of anybody I've ever met! And thank you for what you said about mine. *blushes*

I get that - I live in the Midlands, UK (taking Ben's words in Confirmed Dead as true, then Charlotte's part of the world) but my family originate from Stockport, UK (former home of Dom Monaghan, although my family are all more impressed by some crappy soap star also from the area.) People are always telling me I haven't lost the Northern accent although I don't really notice!

And yet, to you, I and all of my Southern-states friends would probably sound just alike, and you and your UK neighbors might sound just alike to me! It all depends on what your ear gets trained to hear, I guess. (Do you have an accent like Dom, then, or like Charlotte?)

I'm not sure it's either to be honest, but slightly more Dom than Charlotte (to be honest, I'm not sure that Charlotte's accent is really the Bromsgrove one, at a push it could be Essex where she's also supposed to have lived, but posh Essex!)
