In light of this, I'm going to finally figure out how to back up my LJ. Something about ljBook.com?

But backing things up won't save the intangible things we've created here. The network of fans, in my case almost all held together by our love of Sawyer (tho of course I love those I'm friends with for other reasons, too!). A group of friends who, if we scatter to greatestjournal and insane journal, will never *all* find each other again. (btw, I'm alliecat8 on both of those sites) We might not lose our fic and our episode discussions and our rants and our professions of love for our fandom and our flists and our OTPs and the tv shows we adore, but we'll lose the opportunity for people to find us because of it. LJ just means too much to too many people; we can't LET it go under. But is there anything WE can do?

In the meantime, I'm gonna continue to defiantly post fic (today) and articles to my favorite writing site, thequillstation (today) and spam LJ to show my love and support. They haven't defeated me yet!

Lj book isn't working for me now but it's because of the overload so it should work sometime soon.

I don't think that LJ will actually go anywhere though. It's still too big of a business to just pull a plug *sigh*. I don't think we can do much, but at this point I'd wait for some news post or something.

True. For all we know now, there might be a news post in the next few days saying it's all got out of proportion and LJ isn't going anywhere anyway. But either way I've created an insanejournal anyway (I have a plot bunny for Boone as one of the Oceanic Six and need somewhere to post it! And if you feel like brainstorming with me on this one you'll know where to find me again!)

The ideas I have at the moment are mainly about how Boone would deal with Sayid and Nadia's relationship so soon after Sayid's time with Shannon, and Nadia not really understanding the animosity. Also have an idea about Boone visiting Hurley in Santa Rosa and Hurley trying to pass on messages from Shannon, Boone struggling to deal with Sabrina because he knows she's not really sorry Shannon's gone, maybe an encounter with Nicole again?

Can't decide whether to have him say Shannonn died on impact or was one who died early on, but Paulo's defintely gonna have died in the beechcraft!

Any other thoughts?

And I'd love for him to meet Nicole again! I have a liking for that poor girl. ;) At this point you could also say Shannon died early on, if he agreed to go on with the lie it'd make sense.

I think it is LJ that needs to apologise for going nuts just now meaning I couldn't get in to reply and that comment got posted 3 times!

But yeah, sorry Allie, especially since we already discussed this fic and you knew about most of this anyway so it's all repetition!

I think that is most likely what I will do about Shannon, makes most sense to me.

LJbook has been on overload all day -- seems everybody's running scared. :/

My fear is that they'll pull the plug without any notice. They obviously didn't care to give notice to the people they fired; that tells me that they're not big on behaving responsibly. I just hope we can trust them.

Well I don't know how long it will take to get it done - think will have to be in instalments!

I'm still not sure that it's going anywhere but rather be safe than sorry.
