I found that quote as I was looking for the exact right thing for my tattoo, which I keep promising to get and then not getting. What do you think, is that quote true?

It seems sort of negative to me. Although I guess it could just as well be a reminder to be fearless.

I thought it was pretty negative, too. But then, like you, I got to thinking that maybe it's a cautionary thing. I do think it's true, but I also think we should work hard to make it untrue. Like I did with flying. Like you did with your book. And like I'm agonna do with that TATTOO! *nods firmly*

mmmmm, even if do think that the first part is indeed true and a way to see what a promise is, I hope the last part is not true. I try not to let it be true, anyway.

Yeah, that's why I posted the quote, because I was curious about what y'all would make of it. The last part is disturbing, huh? I think it IS true a lot of the time, but maybe it's a good quote to keep in mind, just so we can remember to make it NOT true.

I agree. And yet I think (hope) we work very hard to make the last part untrue. We just forget a lot of the time.
