...that Kate talks Jack into substituting a sample of *his* blood in place of hers? Then the samples would match and would establish a blood relationship. If he'll lie on the witness stand for her, then faking the blood test results probably wouldn't cause him to bat an eye.

Oh, p.s. -- HAPPY LOST DAY, Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. How the hell didn't I, or anyone else, think of that? Excellent idea!

It just hit me a little while ago, and it suddenly seemed very plausible. I guess we'll see, eventually!

Ahhh, interesting. Can you tell by a blood test if someone is male or female, though? She could hit up Jack's mother, except, well, no blood match either!

Jack would totally do that for her, though, wouldn't he?

I was wondering that, about the gender, too. If you can tell, then the only people she could hit up for a fake sample would be Claire's mum or her aunt.

But yes, I'm pretty sure Jack would do that for her. *sigh*

the only thing, he's a man and they'd pick up on it-genetic markers, different genes and such.

But it would show that he may not be related at all..seeing he was like Rosemary's Baby, his father isn't his father and he's decended from the King Other..like the Super Other, higher than Ben, along the lines of Jacob.

And I swear I'm not even kidding around..you all have endured that theory of mine for way too long. *smile*

I was wondering if they'd test for gender as well as blood relationship...maybe not. I don't know how it all works. Heh, maybe Jack and his mom need to have a blood test, just to see if your theory is right. ;)

You know, knowing Kate I think it's absolutely plausible for her to ask. But if Jack went along with it I'd be veeery disappointed not to mention worry about his ethics, even if I'd probably forgive him since he's the only person in Lost at whom I can't stay angry for ten minutes.

The thing that worries me is, Jack seems to have let his ethics go out the window, hasn't he? Especially where Kate is concerned; I'm afraid he'd do it out of some misguided sense of love. Or maybe he'd bargain -- he'll give a blood sample if she'll go back to the island.

And yes, I second your opinion about Jack. I get very very very mad at him, but I've never been able to stay mad, 'cause I love the big dummy.

Please don't kill me for saying this: I don't think they'll get to those tests done since they're all bound to end up together on the island again and then it won't matter, right?
But, if Jack managed to bring Sayid in a hospital without being asked a question, I'm sure he'll find a way to fake some blood tests, too. Also, Ben might do something about that since he's very detemined to bring them all back.

Hee, I won't kill you, silly! ;) You're right, when they get to the island, surely Claire will want her son back, so the blood tests won't matter. But in the meantime...Kate is refusing to go back to the island and she's feeling very threatened by whoever wants to prove she's not Aaron's mother. I can see her resorting to desperate measures. And yes, after all Jack's gotten away with, I'm sure that "doctoring" a blood sample would be a breeze for him. :/

That's pretty smart. You're a wily one and so is Kate so she might think of it once she got beyond her instinct to RUN.

I hope they don't go there though because the thought of that development is frustrating to me.

Oh lordy, are you saying my mind works like Kate's? Do I need an exorcism or something?

It IS a frustrating thought -- it'd be just one more incident of Kate getting away with something she shouldn't. Another example of accountability not applying to her. See my icon for my opinion about THAT.

It disturbs me to think that I might be on the same wavelength as our resident daddy-killer! Eep.

I don't think that's possible - blood tests for paternity/maternity are done nowadays through DNA testing and that would reveal gender of the donees. but, that doesn't mean kate wouldn't ask!

I'm up for Kate having tons of legal trouble with Aaron, cause that means more Tom Irwin. Woo!
