Fat Tuesday
Feb. 24th, 2009 04:18 pmHi y'all!!!

Sigh...New Orleans is my favorite city, and I've been there many times, but in all my years I've never been there for Mardi Gras. I feel like getting in my car and just...going! Get my crazy ass to Bourbon Street and see what happens. Should I?
(if I went NOW, at 4:30...I'd be there at 8:30....)
Yeah, I'm almost that loony, but not quite.
In other news, writing is HARD. First drafts are HELL. But you know what's heaven? Being at the tearing-out-hair stage of writing, and your inbox makes that little bloop that means you have mail and you're all, like, YAY, I have an excuse to stop trying to write and banging my head on the wall, so you open your new mail and it's the most wonderful feedback to a story you wrote three years ago. Every now and then, somebody stumbles onto "Deeper" and has the grace and graciousness to comment, and it touches me so much it makes me cry. I wrote a story that lives on. And it makes me wonder if, since I did it once, could I ever do it again? Maybe? It makes it a little bit easier to go back and work on that dreaded and dreadful first draft again.
So back to work I go. I'm not coming back to LJ until the first draft is done. See ya on the other side.
