I found my file!!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ to eponine119 for sending me every single bit of advice that anybody ever in the history of the universe posted on the internet about how to find lost files and I printed it out and tried to do it but I mucked it up so I gave it to hubby and he couldn't do it either, and then I accidentally clicked on a recovered file of The Memory Box (the other fic I've been working on) AND THERE WAS MY FIC!!!!!!!!!!! I'd saved it under the wrong name, heh. And Word recovered it like a nice little obedient program should, so ♥s to Word, and I guess one for hubby too for trying.

Er...what that means is that The Memory Box got overwritten by Last Man, BUT, hee, I sent a copy of M.B. to eponine119 a couple days ago because it was in such a mess I couldn't make heads or tails of it, so she has it all safe and sound for me. PHEW.

*collapses*

*recovers and DRINKS 'cuz it's Fat Tuesday, party on, flist!*

ETA: GRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH, I guess that means I have to go back to the hair-tearing-out and head-desking...but this time I'll do it in a spirit of gratitude.

It sounds like it turned out okay for you, too. Once I actually lost one file forever that way, and you'd think I'd have learned how *not* to do it again. Maybe the third time's a charm, though, and I'll get it right from here on out. Whew! :)

Yeah, when I opened up the mis-named file I expected to see the other fic I've been working on, but there was the one I thought I'd lost! I yelled and squee'ed and jumped around and told the universe that I loved it for saving my hide. WOOOOO, indeed! :D
