HELLO, MY LOVELIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey y'all. My newest friends are probably wondering, "What's up with Allie, she never updates!" Not true, oh my, soooooooo not true, I can spam with the best of 'em. But I went on vacation and somehow, though my body came back, my brain wanted to stay on vacation for a while longer so I've been doing not much of anything. I missed my flist (and I'm a poet and don't know it, gah, and also lame!) so here I am. HI!!!!! :D

So, since we last talked I've been on a cruise to Mexico, which was lovely. It was quite a different experience, going with a husband and two teenage girls rather than my usual traveling companion, eponine119. I won't say it was less fun, but there was way less me-time. I'll make a pic-post about it as soon as I get the pics uploaded to my computer.

Another development: Thing 2 was voted Homecoming Maid! It's a big deal to her (and to me!) because out of all the honors she's gotten (cheerleader and basketball awards, which were decided by coaches/judges, and the Honor Societies, which were decided by her grades) this is the first one that was voted on by her class. For a 16-year-old living in that crazy Girl World of feeling top-of-the-world popular one day and I'm-a-total-loser unpopular the next, this is a very happy-making thing. Now I've got a whirlwind of getting-ready to do (finding a dress and elbow-length gloves and a gift for her escort and who-knows-what-all) and it's funny, you kind of don't realize, when you're wishing these things for your child, how much work it'll be for YOU if it happens. Ah well, it's a labor of love, after all. :)

I've been planning to get over to lostsquee and finish reading the fics I missed, and I only just realized that, since I left so quickly after my day, I might've missed fics written for me! OMG, if so, I'm sorry! What a faux pas! But I will fix it. I can't wait to see what's there (for everybody!) since I last visited. I miss the luau. It's exhausting but like ^^^, it's a labor of love. ♥
