Have you noticed it's February? And this is significant WHY? Well, because it isn't December, of course! And what do we do in December? We send each other holiday cards. Except I didn't this year because I got sick and was still too stubborn to stay home from New York. So I went to New York and had a lovely holiday in my hotel bed (it had a nice view -- we were at the Rock -- and I made it to Midnight Mass at St. Patrick's and saw the big tree, decorations, etc, and the family had a great trip, so, don't cry for me, it was lovely). Anyway, I'm sitting here looking at a stack of Christmas cards that I never thanked anybody for. So I'm using my pixie dust and suddenly it's December again, and I am thanking you all on time:

[livejournal.com profile] haldoor -- how cool is it to get a green Kiwi card? Why must you live so far away? I wanna shop with you. FOR SHOES, LOL!!!!! You must be taught the tao of shoes. You've given me a mission in life. (Aw, your shoe-philosophy is safe 'cause I'll never get over there. WAIT, YOU COME HERE! YOU CAN EVEN SHOP IN MINE AND T2'S CLOSETS, IF YOU WANT!) Oh, do your girls have Facebook? Have you given up the fight and let 'em friend whoever they want as long as they know somebody who knows them? (and how can you police it? it's hopeless). Anyhow, if you're not zealous about FB privacy, our girls might like to get to know each other. Just a warm Christmasy thought. :)

[livejournal.com profile] cynthia_arrow - MY KATE!!!! My l'il country sis. (that's not an insult -- we're both country). You said you wanted to do something, just the two of us, and since you're so close by, why don't you come to Pilgrimage at the end of March? 'We'll be all proper and visit the antebellum mansions (on a day when I'm NOT hostessing, 'cause NOBODY on LJ sees me in my hoop skirt!), and then we'll see if we can find some trouble to get into. OH, Thing 1 just moved into an apartment in an antebellum place, and he's a rock god (in his dreams), so we can go party there. Srsly, he and his girlfriend are awesome and they will get us drunk and he'll play bad music and we'll have a blast. Plus they have a ghost (don't tell Abbey, the gf, she's a True Believer and scared!) but you and I can sneak off and find him and see if he's cute. Merry Christmas!

Moving on, how could I NOT love [livejournal.com profile] gottalovev? Not only have I met her twice (and there will be more, the 8-ball says "Count On It"), but she paints/draws amazing pics, some of which she gives me. I have one in my kitchen that everybody comments on, and here in the card is a pic of her family. She's raising the gender that I still don't know what to do with (even tho I have one), so we can't do a whole lot of the mom-bonding thing, but we sure can GET OUR VEGAS ON TOGETHER, BABY! What happens there stays there, so I'll shut up now. ;) Merry Christmas!

[livejournal.com profile] elliotsmelliot, you are the sweetest and quietest fangirl I have ever met. And the latter is a compliment because fangirls can be VERY LOUD, maybe you noticed. I love you because you are so calm and centered admist a whirlwind of luau-ing and figging discussions and strip-crawling, plus you are beautiful and you have long hair that I love and you agreed to be a princess. My favorite quote from our GFG memories was yours: and fighting the urge to stop and count to make sure I had not lost any fangirls. The latter is kind of like phantom limb syndrome. Where are you guys? Anyone need lip balm or a bathroom break? That pretty much sums up what it was like. OMG, where is T? Did we lose her forever? ;D Merry Christmas!

[livejournal.com profile] inthekeyofd! D, I finally got to meet you! After years and years of talking about it but never managing to do it. And you are lovely and sweet and kind and just as funny in person as you are on LJ. You were my "Lee" on this trip, because at the last GFG Lee had the most awesome one of the American accents, so I made her talk just so I could listen to her. Yours is just as awesome, in such a different way. It's amazing how different our dialects are, even in the same country (although, of course, I don't *have* an accent). That, and your willingness to share ALL of your life on LJ, not just the fangirl squee. Sometimes I'm envious because I think that someday you'll be able to look back at all of your thoughts from this crazy time, and then I tell myself that since I'll never grow up and therefore my memory will stay sharp, there's no need. And yet it's fading already. I'm gonna need all kinds of help with the Sisters Glorious Fairy Tale I'm starting to write today. I'm counting on you, even tho you missed a bit. Merry Christmas!

[livejournal.com profile] speedcat! My dear, not only will we meet in Paris in the spring, but we will drink wine al fresco...and...do they have beignets there? Or is that just a New Orleans made-up French thing? Anyway, we'll sit and sip and plan, and then you will take us to do something totally non-touristy. 'Cause all the Parisians say "don't do the touristy things!" but sadly, we are tourists so mostly we'll do the touristy things. You can save us from being totally cheezy. Also you can talk French with Megan and slowly and carefully with me. I hope it all works out -- Happy Christmas!

I know there are other cards in the mess that is my beloved cubby (do I love it BECAUSE it's a huge dump of memorabilia and writing tools, or IN SPITE of it?), and when I find them I will do another REMISS post. It would help if you'd comment and say, "Allie, you worthless hussy, you left me out." 'Cause I know you're here somewhere.

Now the other thing I've been remiss on. I don't normally say "happy birthday" to all my flisters because it's a dilemma -- do I include everybody, even people I've never spoken to (awkward), or do I just include everybody I love (which of course if most of my flist -- even if I've never spoken to you, but what if you wonder why this stranger is saying "happy birthday"?), or do I just avoid it altogether and be fair to everyone but sad? Because not celebrating makes me blue. So my decision for this year was to say happy birthday to my Sagittarius Sisters...and I even blew that! Though I DID manage to get some of you. But mostly I was too far In a New York State of Mind, I think. So, since we've re-booted and it's December again, here's who I missed -- MY GIRLS!!!!!! YOU'RE ALL SO SPECIAL; SOMEHOW WE ALL SHARE THAT BIRTHDAY BOND:

[livejournal.com profile] eponine119
[livejournal.com profile] ellel
[livejournal.com profile] cielo_claro

and [livejournal.com profile] holycitygirl

also, there's a dispute between my astrology book, which I love til it's falling to pieces, and the online zoidac chart: one says that Sagittarius starts on Nov. 22 and one says Nov. 23. So [livejournal.com profile] crickets, 'fess up, one way or the other. ;)

And we can get it all wrapped up (hee!) in the same month.

I'm glad Jack likes the snow. Sawyer isn't so sure. But think about all they could get up to under the umbrella.

Plot bunny abortions are frowned upon, aren't they? Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.

We did, we did! But not Christmas. And I didn't wish you an OFFICIAL happy birthday, so even though it counted more in person, it had to be done on LJ, too. So the bean-counters don't get their panties in a wad. (should I translate?)

♥!!!

Thanks, love! So glad you liked the card, and you're such a sweetheart! I would be bored after five mins of shoe shopping, but you can try! Watch me get distracted by a bookshop or the music in a record (I know they don't exist any more but I used to spend hours looking for vinyl) shop!

One day, we are going to meet, I swear! ♥ (how do you make ♥ different colours anyway?)

I'm not allowed to walk by a bookshop. Personal rule, you know. Unless you're buying; then we're good to go. Music, eh, not so much (I get it online but ooooh, I remember vinyl...would you kill me if you knew I have "Thriller" all melted up in my mom's attic?), but keep me AWAY from the Day Spa at all costs.

Someday we WILL meet, and we'll go shopping and to the spa and our girls will be so jealous. La!

In the meantime, here's your homework. I want a BIG ORANGE heart to represnt my home state of Tennessee. So, here's what you do. First you go to this site, or any other hexadecimal color code charts and pick your color; in this case Dark Orange 1. (I'll let you practice and find it. :) Then you go font color=#F87217&hearts> but you enclose the font color="### in <> these and put the ; on the end of your &hearts, and...

...voila!

Next lesson I'll teach you how to make a genuine BIG orange heart!!! Except it's a hell of a lot harder to teach this stuff than it is to DO it! (here goes edit #3)

I love books but I don't really buy many any more; I use the library (have so many other things I HAVE to spend my money on, unfortunately, like bills)! But I'm pretty good at browsing in bookshops until I suddenly realise I've been there for an hour already! I don't buy many cds any more either, but in the olden days when vinyl was the thing, I spent HOURS and bought TONZ. No, Thriller being melted doesn't bother me; if I had to have MJ, I'd rather have 'Off the Wall'. However, I've never been to a spa, day or otherwise, EVER.

OK, here I go with the heart thing *sticks tongue out for concentration*.

WOOHOO! It worked, but man, I clearly need more < big >s!

Hee! That's awesome! Sorry, changed the colour for the hell of it. Here y'go. And if Orange Hearts stand for GA, I'm definitely supposed to be Georgian! Ha!

Bloody hell, how weird is that: Rush Hour2 is on TV and there's a MJ song blaring...

thanks darling. the last painting were not MY family, to be honest it was somehow fanwork, but I obviously relate to the idea of a father and his son having fun ;)

The card was beautiful, and it was a father playing in the snow with TWO sons, so I thought of your family even if it wasn't an actual representation, and that's what I think you intended, so, thanks!

And yes, I had a little empty wood space in my kitchen where a cabinet stands in the room that backs up to it, and your picture fit there perfectly. Like it was meant to be!
