?

I have a question and my usual email question-answerer isn't up yet. If you're putting a header on a fic, and the fic is about one person (X), but that person thinks sadly about someone who is dead, do you put X/X in the heading, or do you just put X's name?

ETA: What do you call the place where Kate and Juliet worked when they were with Dharma?

I think they just called it the motor pool. :)

If the pairing isn't really in the story but still a plot point I usually do this: Sawyer (Sawyer/Juliet), but I think it would be fine to just write the character's name if you wanted to.

The motor pool! Duh! *slaps forehead* Of course. Thank you.

I like your way, and I hadn't thought of doing it that way. Thanks for the idea!

Motor pool! :D

I wrote a very similar fic once and used both X's name as well as "implied X/X". I figure since a reader may like a character, but not the pairing, it's a safe way to go. :)

You can do it either way, you can put just the X character that is alive and then put the other characters name in as a mention in the description.

Or, character X will be thinking about the dead character--doing more than just talking, you can definitely use the x/x (but make sure that the people know he's dead because pissedoffedness when someone reads a story and then finds out one of the characters is dead reaches epic proportions.
