Jack's got Sawyer's back. FINALLY. Though I guess in a way he always has. I wanna say I'd like to see Sawyer save JACK for a change, but he did, when he took Juliet (ultimately to her death) to the hole so they could "Live together, die alone."

They won't all go at once, will they? Then all that will be left are Locke and Claire in the end, and that will be boring...well, I guess Ben and Alpert and Miles, which wouldn't be boring at all, esp. for Claire and the slashers, but what about all the constants left at home? And poor Des, who I don't think is dead - can Penny find him again? And what if the island sinks?

Poor James can't trust Jack. His trust issues still aren't resolved. *sigh* I hope he'll learn, as Jack is learning. Their friendship waxes and wanes, and neither is ever in the same place at the same time. I hope we see it happen.

In the sideways universe the constants are alive. Jin/Sun. Or is Jin bringing flowers to his boss daughter, as we saw before? Yellow roses don't signify love...or am I being too pessimistic? I think only one of the Kwons will live, and Ji Yeon is their constant.

ETA: DAMN, if they can do Sawyer-Michael mouth-to-mouth, Jack-Charlie mouth-to-mouth, and Jack-Desmond mouth-to-mouth, WTF? No Jack-Sawyer mouth-to-mouth? Was this in a liability clause, 'cause our families would sue when us slasher's heads exploded? It would've been worth it...so worth it....

I don't think Jin and Sun are dead. Or, if they're dead on the island, they're safe in sideways-land. It's okay. *pets you.*

Maybe Jack knows everythihg because the island is telling him - Sayid said, "It's you," meaning, I think, that Jack is The Final Candidate - so it's possible that Jacob is telling him the answers. Remember, though, that we saw the island under water in the season premiere, so if Flocke can't survive under water, well, Jack...I don't hate him, so I don't wanna think about it.

He could be the hero that saves everyone else and gets them back to their constants: Des and Penny, Sawyer and...well, you make the call ;), Hurley and Libby, Claire and Aaron. Sun and Jin, I hope. There are others, but they can't all have happy endings. That's why I'm so nervous.

The Jack/Sawyer of this episode was amazing after such a long, long, long, LONG, draught. But I agree, the lack of Jack/Sawyer mouth-to-mouth was appalling. I'm still using my Jawyer icon though, for the first time in forever!

I have to admit, the deaths of all these people isn't as sad for me as for everyone else, it seems. The existence of the sideways verse has lessened the impact for me. Others are sad because the people who are dying are the ones we've been with for six years, but I don't feel that separated from the sideways verse incarnations. I feel like they're the same people, really.

In sideways verse, I believe Jin is bringing flowers to Sun, who is still in the hospital after being shot during the Sayid/Keamy fight at the restaurant.

I really think everyone in island verse except Jack is going to die and the sideways incarnations will live. Island!Jack will be the new Jacob and keep Smokey trapped in that verse so everyone in the other verse can have their happy ending.

Yeah, I don't get this either. They're still the same people, even if their circumstances have changed. And I have a new theory as of this morning...what if it's not an *alternate* universe? Tawaret (statue) is the goddess of childbirth and ushering souls into the next life (to be reborn). What if the flashes are technically flashforwards to a sort of rebooted existence? What if the Sideways versions of the characters are "remembering" the original reality because THEY ACTUALLY LIVED IT and are being given a second chance?

Reading your as-it-happens, it makes you realize how much expectations they switched last night - Sawyer tells Locke he trusts him, but that's not his real plan...Locke says he can kill them all, but he's really not allowed to...

Jack's got Sawyer's back. FINALLY. Jack's been a dutiful comrade and has accomplished every task Sawyer's given him in the last couple eps - ditching Locke and bringing the group to the sailboat, pushing Locke into the water on cue, etc. I can't really blame Sawyer for not taking the leap of faith and watching the bomb counter count down without doing anything. But that Churchillian "think before reacting" thing has switched places again, huh? and now Sawyer's reacting while Jack's the thinking one.

My observation skills were admittedly poor last night, but I'm pretty sure they were in the other cage. The one without the ridiculously wide-spaced bars at the top.

Word to the whole Jack having Sawyer's back comment. I said in a slash fic that Juliet served as Sawyer's Jack for the years in Dharmaville, so the suggestion that Jack was picking up Juliet's old job made me squeal and jump up and down and generally act like a loon. :D

I watched it last night and I was totally unspoiled (that's the way I do it since season 5)
I still don't know what to think, but this alternate reality/reboot/flashsideway thing is bothering me even more now.
I see you're still getting it with a positive attitude, so I would love to discuss it with you -I don't know if here again, as a reply to some posts above, or as a new post in my lj...
