My son, the child whom I would believe got switched at birth save for the fact that he READS, tagged me on Facebook for this. He wanted me to tag 15 friends, but since I don't have 15 friends on Facebook because hardly anybody knows who I am there (I go by a pseudomym), I'm bringing it over here.

The Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen authors (poets included) who've influenced you and will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. Tag 15 friends (if you want).

My List

1. Lewis Carroll
2. L. Frank Baum
3. W.B. Yeats
4. Arthur O'Shaugnessy
5. Stephen King
6. Margaret Mitchell
7. God
8. Laura Ingalls Wilder
9. The Brothers Grimm
10. Diana Gabaldon
11. Neil Gaiman
12. Jonathan Kellerman
13. Maeve Binchy
14. Hannah Hurnard
15. ME! hahaHA!

Yeah, my son said that was a cop-out, but I disagree. Whether or not I believe in God as other people do (I have my own ideas about that like I do about most things), the Bible as a book was written by people claiming to use the same, shall we say, source? Since I didn't want to quote everyone's names individually ('cause I don't know them and it'd be cumbersome), I used the name of their muse instead. Whomever or whatever that may be.

Well, that's okay then. As long as you're not one of those people who thinks the Bible was actually physically written by a man with a long white beard who looks a lot like Zeus. ;)

I would totally do this meme, but this answer illustrates why I would fail at it: I can think of specific *books* that have influenced me, but not necessarily the authors of those books.

OMG I FORGOT SHAKESPEARE! I know, shhhhh Allie, but that kinda called for a freak-out voice. I love your list; I see several that could've been on mine. They should've given us at least 20.

why am I so bratty?
