TV Stuff...and HI MY LOVLIES!!!
Jan. 4th, 2011 09:55 pmHey y'all! I've been scarce because I've been feeling lost inside...pun intended. With Lost gone my muse isn't herself...although I am FINALLY working on a new J/S story, a weird one that I hope will work out anyway. I'm loving the writing, I'm excited about it again! So of course, naturally, that happy feeling brings me back to LJ and my darlings - you guys!
I might be naive, but I'm excited about something else, too. This new show - the one that's taking Lost's old spot - Off the Map, looks promising! I mean, jungles and doctors, does that sound familiar??? I've heard that if you married Lost and Grey's Anatomy you'd have Off the Map, and it just so happens that Lost and Grey's are my two favorite shows. Well, it's a three-way tie with Friday Night Lights, but OMG OMG OMG, Matt Saracen from FNL is gonna be in Off the Map! It's bizarre, FNL is still on (soon...does anybody know the premiere date?) even though they wrapped the final season last year, so the actors are free to work elsewhere NOW, which means that we just might get a double dose of Matt, and even though he's not my hot babe on FNL (that title belongs to my forever love Timmy Riggins), he looks like he could very well be a hot babe on Off the Map. And there's this other guy who looks HOT, too, a dedicated doctor with a haunted past -- OMG I might find another love! I could even - tho this might be wishful thinking - find a new OTP to write about, between my darlin' Matt and this other hottie. GAH, is it Jan. 12 (premiere night) yet?
And y'all get to hear my dirty little secret, all about my love for American Idol...the last two seasons have been kinda boring (except for Adam, I'm STILL in love with Adam!) but Steven Tyler is one of my secret loves, too (tho I love Joe Perry much, much, much more) and I can't wait to see how he handles judging Idol.
So that empty void inside me that's been there since Lost left feels a little bit better now. I still miss Lost desperately. But I'm writing again, which brings it all home to me again. And that brings me home to LJ again. And that makes me happy. :)

Date: 2011-01-05 05:31 am (UTC)I saw a print ad for that show and was mildly intrigued. possibly because the guy seems to have the Sawyer haircut... ;) Remind me when it's on (or post on lj) and I'll see if I can check it out.

Date: 2011-01-06 02:32 am (UTC)I said this in your journal, but that guy with the Sawyer hair looks very promising...kind of like he's a cross between Sawyer (with the looks and the chest) and Jack (with the dedicated doctor thing). I think we might love him. So pleeeeeaaaaaase check it out? Or I'll check it out for you and tell you if it's worth watching, but my gut (and other places, like my dirty OTP-needing brain) tell me that it definitely will be. I need an off the map icon, hold on....there we go, all set. :)
And you ARE special, so what's with this mindset that you're not? Where'd THAT come from? Or do you wanna talk about this in email?

Date: 2011-01-05 05:32 am (UTC)Zach Gilford is going to be on Off the Map? I was totally going to pass on that show and now I can't. Hmm. Things I do for Matt Saracen.

Date: 2011-01-06 02:41 am (UTC)And yes my dear, I want you to give Off the Map a try. I mean, there's Zach (he wasn't my main man in FNL but he was my backup!), and then there's this other very interesting-looking guy...definitely worth a look! Maybe we can talk about it afterward and see if it's up to our standards. :)

Date: 2011-01-06 02:50 am (UTC)I'm happy to be writing again, too. The Christmas story you wrote me shows me that you haven't lost your touch, but I did, for a long long time after Lost ended. I think the muse was in mourning. But being excited about this winter's TV schedule seems to have given her new life, so maybe I'll get my touch back, too! Thanks for the encouragement, love!

Date: 2011-01-06 03:34 am (UTC)I'm already deep in one fandom even if it's been dead for years, well make that two with a spanking new one (H50), and flirting shamelessly with a third with Lost on the side for old time sakes... 2010 was probably my most productive year ever in writing, and I'm not sure I'll top that.
Doctor shows never worked for me, save from House, we'll see! hope it sparks your muse!

Date: 2011-01-06 09:31 pm (UTC)I LOVE House, too...I'm a barely-closeted House/Wilson slasher, but I can't write them because I'm afraid I can't do House (the character) justice. He's just so complex! But I loves my Wilson, and if Libby breaks his heart...(I hope I didn't just spoil you).
I'm going to post on LJ about Hawaii Five-O. I was able to get, like, maybe the 4th episode to play last night and yeah, OMG, Steve and Dan-O are irresistible, both as individuals and as a couple. Do I see fanfic in my future? The problem is that I want to start watching it from the beginning...anyhow, you'll see my post and my angst about all this on LJ soon. ;)

Date: 2011-01-06 07:10 pm (UTC)Good luck with the writing! I'm very interested to see what you've come up with. :)
This new show you speak of...I've never heard of it. I'll have to investigate.

Date: 2011-01-06 09:39 pm (UTC)Oh, darling, if you read my story do me a favor, ok? Don't give up on it til you see what I do with the ending, because it'll have, like, 5 parts that might make you want to scream at me and click away. I told you it was weird! But the muse has been sick for so long, I'm letting her do whatever she wants right now! Thank you for being such a loyal reader. ♥
Yes, please do investigate Off the Map! It's got Lost's original timeslot, Wednesdays at 10/9C on ABC, which is a good omen in itself. And pretty scenery and pretty people and I'm intrigued by it. It starts next week, so let me know what you think!
