Thing 2 and I are going to Paris and the south of France in June, so I'm gearing up for it already. You will be my "go to" girl for the phrases I'll need to know. And have you been to France? ohh Paris and the South of France! that is great! I've been there, yes. Not a silly questions at all, but I've done part of my Master degree in Paris where I lived for 4 months and took my vacations on the Côte d'Azur (Antibes, Nice, Monaco, around those parts). Very very beautiful. And June should be a great time to go, too.
I am going to email you soon, because you sound like you'll be a goldmine of information! (loves you madly) I've found a 4 night 5 day flexible train excursion that spends two nights in Arles or Saint-Remy or Auvers-sur-Oise (my Van Gogh fangirlism must be satisfied, you know), and then two nights in Nice (where we can hire a car for the day and tour Monaco). I think my daughter will be amazed by the last part! So we'll talk some more, okay? Yay, I'm so excited, both to be going on the trip (where I can brush up on my French and maybe we can have a conversation in YOUR language!) and about having a good excuse to bug you in email again. ;)

The reason I shouted out for my French friends is that I'm going to be in France in June, and I'd love to talk to all of you guys about it. I know some of you live in the countryside, some in a city, and I need to start educating myself on where to go (I'll be bringing my 18-year-old daughter along).
