Update: RECOVERY is in SIGHT! :)
Jan. 24th, 2011 01:20 pmHey y'all! I just wanted to let you know that the surgery went well, apparently. I go back in two weeks to make sure everything settled into the places it should be; it's weird being able to feel the port they'll use to adjust the ring around my esophagus that'll hold back the reflux that causes my pneumonia...and will hopefully let me lose a little weight as well. (In case you missed it, I had Lapband surgery last week.) The worst part of the recovery - besides the pain, which is manageable - is that I can only climb the stairs twice a day, and my big, beloved computer is upstairs in my room. I've taken over Thing 2's old downstairs room from when she was little (before she got the apartment) and I have my laptop and my notebook computers in there, but BLECH, I can't type worth a damn on them. I'd much rather drag myself up the stairs when I need you guys! And I've been missing you A LOT! Anyhow, I'm on the road to recovery, and I appreciate all the thoughts and good wishes you've been sending my way (yes, I can FEEL them!). You're a powerful bunch as well as a GREAT set of friends, and I'm so lucky to have you.
