Hallelujah, my mighty slasher friends, I finally got to see the Hawaii Five-0 pilot Sunday night, and now that I know what it's all about, my brain is slashing Danny/Steve like crazy. They hate love each other so much! This, obviously, will lead to fic sometime in the near future. In the meantime I need to hunt down YOUR fic to read and see how it's done in this fandom, so if you would be so kind, please direct me to your fic and/or the fic of others that you'd like to rec.

I'm also totally on board with Glee. I'd always thought of it as a somewhat silly teenage angst show, but I saw the pilot yesterday and now I get it - it's all about finding your bliss and living it, and THAT is exactly what I need to see. If there's any good Glee fic out there, I'd love to read it as well.

AND, I'm kind of ashamed to admit it because almost all of the reviews I've read about this show were awful, but I'm kind of into Off the Map. Yes, I realize that it's totally Grey's Anatomy in the jungle, with all the stupid girly "why doesn't he like me" focus WAY too much of the time, but my darlin' Matt from Friday Night Lights is on it, and I find the other doctor, Ben, to be wonderfully enigmatic and a bit Sawyer-like, tho I wish he'd smile more so I can see if he has the dimples that I suspect he does. Maybe someday they will show us some kind of developing relationship between Ben and Matt, and that's what I'm holding out for. If they never do then I'm out, gone - even if it is a show that has just as much pretty as Lost...and that makes me both happy and sad (homesick for my show-of-all-shows -- meaning Lost, of course) at the same time.

So anyway, my TV schedule is pretty booked up, and that is definitely a happy-making thing!

Glee! I just watched season 1 disk 5 last night... Groff finally showed up. siiiiiiiiiiigh Anyway, I kind of have mixed feelings about the show, still, most of the way through season 1, I like it but it takes me awhile to warm up to it. I don't think I could watch it every week but on DVD it's working for me, mostly.

Whee! I'm so glad we finally have another show in common! I'm wating with bated breath for Jon to show up and reunite with Lea...oh, the memories it brings back. Spring Awakening on Broadway - life doesn't get much better than that, does it? We were two lucky, lucky girls, and it's all thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ella_bee for telling us that we must see it! Speaking of Miss Bee, where in the heck IS she?

I could have mixed feelings about the show if I wanted to, 'cause it's pretty hokey, but I decided just to say what the hell, just go for it - it's the perfect show to watch while walking on the treadmill. The energy it generates makes me want to dance, but in lieu of that I just walk faster and do a little boogie-woogie with my hips now and then. ;)

I just finished S 1:3 - let me know when (or if) I catch up with you!

Auuugh, everyone is always saying how they love Glee. ;; I like some episodes, but I usually can't get past the cliches and bad acting :/

Eh, it's my "treadmill show," so I just suck up the energy of people breaking into song and dance for no reason, and I work out a little harder. The rest is just fluff, but as long as it keeps me burning those calories, I can take it. :)

Most of my fic recs would come from season two, and I don't know if you want a ton of spoilers. Course Corrections is pretty much the coolest AU fic ever, so you might want to start there.

OK, thanks for the starting point! But yeah, I'd rather wait til I've finished S1 if all the good fics come from S2...I'm watching an ep a day while I'm on the treadmill, so it shouldn't take all that long....

(and btw, I adore AU's, so that sounds like the perfect starting place!)

I have to distance myself from the Glee haterade on LJ - because Glee is like my happiest of happy places, and I can't handle people harshing on my squee ;) Guh, I just love all of them. And singing and dancing always make everything better LOL.

As far as fic, I haven't really found a lot yet, but I absolutely loved this Kurt/Blaine fic, and I think she has some others too :D Oh wait - have you not seen any of S2 yet? I guess you need to wait on that one. But have a feeling you'll totally be on board with Kurt/Blaine once you get to it ;) *uses adorable icon to prove point* <3333

Haterade? LOL, I need to add that to the LJanguage dictionary I'm putting together for the Quill Station! It kinda reminds me of the "Katred" most of us developed back in our Lost days....

Yeah, all the recs I'm getting seem to be from S2, so I'll have to wait a little while...I'm watching one a day while I'm on the treadmill, so it depends on how quick Netflix can keep me in new discs and how long my legs hold out!

That icon is precious! Definitely squeeage-worthy! ♥

I am so glad you're jumping on the Hawaii Five-0 bandwagon, and with pen and notepad!!!!

[livejournal.com profile] zelda_zee and [livejournal.com profile] bachlava have good recs on their LJ's, and if you want a nice long fic to get your teeth into, I swear that this by [livejournal.com profile] elise_509 is seriously awesome.

Yeah, it feels good to find an emminently slashable couple again. Although, I still have 5 or 6 prompts left on my fanfic100 Sawyer claim, and maybe 10 prompts left on my J/S 30_wounds claim, so I can't totally bail on the Lostfic just yet!

I will definitely check out ZZ's and Bachlava's recs, and I'm reading Elise_509's a little bit at a time...I am the world's slowest reader so I always bring up the rear when it comes to finishing long fics...uh, no pun intended. ;)

EEEEEEEEE! H5O - I haven't written any yet, nor read that much, but I love the show. I need to catch up on reading before I'll feel confident to write any, I think.

Glee - love the first series, getting more lukewarm as it moves on (we're getting S3???) from this week. It's a fun show and if you don't take it too seriously, it is fun. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to dislike how they treat their gay characters and that's starting to annoy me, but I'll keep going for a while. Only written a drabble in this fandom (Finn/Kurt) which wasn't up to much, but [livejournal.com profile] hitlikehammers recently wrote an awesome Kurt/Puck that you might like - not sure on the spoiler front, although I doubt it matters much.

As for Off the Map - I just watched the first ep and have to be a bit biased since Martin Henderson (Ben) is a Kiwi! (hence the weird accent - it's sort-of Kiwi but they kind of evened it out and make him speak slower than your average Kiwi), but I'm with you - a bit of slash would not go amiss. I love the scenery though, so I'll stick with it for a bit and see how it goes!

I'm with you; I've only ever written in one fandom and I spent a whole summer reading Lostfic before I ever had the nerve to jump in and start posting slash, so I'll probably warm myself up this winter by reading some steamy H50 fic before I attempt to write any.

According to Netflix, we are already in Glee's S3. They have "The Complete Season 1" and "The Complete Season 2," and also a few episodes from Season 3, so I just assumed that's where we are. It's kinda weird for me because I'm watching the first episodes in the daytime while I'm doing my "treadmill time," and then watching the new episodes when they air at night. Makes me feel kind of schizophrenic, lol. Thanks for the rec - I'll definitely check that one out!

I just finished watching the newest ep of Off the Map, and YES, Ben DOES have dimples! And he's a Kiwi, eh? Awwwww, I wish they'd done him like Lost did Josh and let him keep his accent. Tho he's plenty sexy without it...y'all make 'em good down there!
