*snort* That was easy. I was driving near my kids' (former) school yesterday and I got to thinking about all the fitness equipment I'd bought the school when I worked there, and wondering if it was going to waste and if so, was it at least being taken care of? Then I actually walked in during a tumbling session, so yay, the equipment is being used. I got to talking to the coach in charge and found out some other stuff, like, they don't have a spirit coordinator anymore and in the void, the principal had been trying to handle it himself. Which explains why the dance and tumbling teams never performed at football games or street festivals this year. So the principal walked by and I said, "Can I talk to you?" and he said, "I can give you two minutes." Which is all it took!

Once in his office I said, "I want my old job back," and he said, "Hallelujah, Allie, you're an answer to a prayer." (It helps that he's Thing 1's old basketball coach and we're friends from way back). I said, "I did the math, underestimating the number of kids we'll have, and I figure that if you pay me and the coaches, it's still a great money-making thing for the school so we need to keep it up and running" and he agreed; didn't even ask me what I wanted to be paid, heh. I guess I get to set my own price, (within reason, of course!). Then he said he was worried sick because the tumbling coach was graduating (we always use Mississippi State students) and he didn't know how to find a new one, and I said, "I've got one for you," and he said, "This is awesome! Welcome (back) aboard!"

LOL, the best coach I know of is, of course, my daughter Thing 2! She's taken tumbling since she was 3, dance since she was 4, cheer since like forever, and she's taught young 'uns at gyms all over the place, as well as at the school - when she was a 6th grader, still in elementary school and I was spirit cooridinator, if the tumbling coach called in sick I'd get her to teach his classes. She's strong as a horse and knows her stuff...*cough*do I sound like I'm justifying nepotism here?*cough*
