I'm so indecisive about whether or not to make a 9/11 post today. No one on my flist has done it, and many people (including me) are over-saturated with media and really just want to hide from it. So, instead of telling you where I was that day (if you want to know, it's here), I NEED to tell you what it means to me today. Because:

My son joined the Navy two weeks ago. I don't know how much 9/11 had to do with that, but I do know that he'll be associated with people who were directly involved with it for a long time to come. He's not allowed to call home yet, and I keep wondering what they're doing at Boot Camp to commemorate the day.

My husband just took a year-long job in the Middle East. I hope, for his sake and my family's, that what they're telling us is right - we're over there to HELP. All we can do is our best and if that isn't good enough, then we shouldn't be there. HE shouldn't be there.

9/11 is having more direct impact on my family today than it did ten years ago. I only hope I have ten more years worth of maturity now so I can deal with it.
