a thought or two
Aug. 9th, 2012 07:03 pmWe plan; God laughs.
Ain't it the truth?
I have six cats. Yes, I realized that this makes me the Crazy Cat Lady of LJ. Anyhow, my baby, Elsie

is about 7 months old now, and she's ladylike and well-behaved, but...well, she's not the brightest bulb in the 6-pack. Sometimes she goes to her litter box and doesn't quite hit the target. This happened yesterday, and she must have been mortified by it but let's give her kudos for being creative. Since she pooped on the floor and not in the box, she couldn't scratch litter over it so this is what I found:
1 small pile of cat poop, covered with -
The plug from my hair straightener
A label I'd cut out of a dress and put in the wastebasket
One of my hairbands
A pink razor that she must've gotten out of my bathtub
Her favorite green jingle ball.
I'm afraid that her putting her favorite toy on there was her attempt at atonement. But seriously, HOW could I get mad at her? Sometimes you just have to cover your eyes with your hand, shake your head, giggle, clean everything up, and then go smooch your silly, conscientious little baby. I really was tempted to take a picture of it and include it in this post, but I decided to spare you. I sometimes see humor in very odd places where other people don't, and I thought this might be one of those times!

Date: 2012-08-10 12:47 am (UTC)Mine does that too - barf on the rug? Cover it up with whatever's around.
She's also scared of her poop, I think. If she misses she ends up RUNNING to the other end of the house. Like it's chasing her.

Date: 2012-08-11 01:27 am (UTC)My old cat occasionally leaves me a dooky streak across the carpet and makes NO effort to cover it, she just whines at me. My younger dummy plays with her poop occasionally, so it's like a litter bomb went off in the bathroom.
