Oh y'all. Guess what I've got? TICKETS TO THE AVETT BROTHERS CONCERT NEXT MONTH!!!!! Is there ANYBODY on my flist who fangirls them, anybody at all? 'Cause it's lonely to be a fangirl all by myself. On LJ, I mean. In RL my daughter is a FANGIRL and she's the one who turned me on to them...we fight over who gets to jump Seth's bones (see icon).

They're a folk rock band from North Carolina (where my roots are, too) and they would've fit in perfectly at Woodstock. My idea of heaven would be to transport them and me there...my greatest regret in life is that I was too young for Woodstock!

I'm jumping around like they do (they obviously both have ADHD and I can't imagine what a handful they were as kids), but my excuse is that it's a beautiful spring day (in February, WTF???) and I'm unfed but caffeinated to the gills. The ceiling looks so pretty from up close! WHEEEEE!!!! How come nobody ever turned me on to this caffeine stuff before, huh?

How the hell do people text? I try, I swear I do. I see my kids and hubby texting away like they're on a computer keyboard, but I have long fingernails which I'm loathe to get rid of. Is there any hope for me? Because it's sad to think that I'm the only one in the world who's not texting and I don't wanna be sad on this happy, hyper day. So I'll just think about it tomorrow. Fiddle dee dee.

Um, I'm sure I've got more to say but instead I'm gonna run get an Avett Brothers video for you. Because I like to share the things I love with my friends! ♥

I am always outed as an oldster by my very slow texting. :-/ That and if I happen to be wearing my glasses for driving and /or movies or other things that happen at a distance, i have to push them up onto my head so I can see to text. Most annoying thing: Hanging out at a show, having a friend constantly showing me her phone to read her texts. 1) That's just annoying. 2) Can't she see the entire process I have to go through? In short, texting is for kids.

Thank you for making me feel better about this texting conundrum. I don't feel so alone anymore. But my family has this sinister network where they all (hubby, T1, T1's fiance, and T2) are all happy-happy texting buddies, and I'm totally out of the loop. Gah, they sit at the dinner table in a restaurant and can't have a conversation with me 'cause they're all texting each other. Even in the same room! They have become Pod People, it's the only explanation.

Ahh, see, I think that's just rude. :-/ I prefer a face to face or phone conversation over a text one anyway. Texts are great for emergencies or when you're stuck somewhere and really bored but that's about it, as far as I'm concerned!

And I can type really fast on a regular keyboard, so having to peck things out on a phone seems like such a waste of time! De-evolution, if you ask me!

Maybe during texting time is when you can call or at least Skype someone!

No idea who Avett Brothers are, sorry, but I'm happy for you :)

I have long nails and I text using the side of my finger on touch screens and the tips of my nails on normal phones.

As a matter of fact, my phone has a keyboard that slides out...I should take some time every day and practice typing on a tiny keyboard with the sides of my fingers. Because at this point I still avoid even my laptop since the keyboard's smaller than my pc's! Shame on me.

I type normally with my fingernails, whether it's the laptop or the netbook - I have been told off at work for scraping off the letters on the keys with my nails, at the moment I can't tell what E, R, O, P are :)

I'm a texter, but I have a full keyboard; that makes it easier, though I'm still slow. I mainly text my kids and never when they're in the same room! How rude!
